Sweet Temptation
Year of production: 2012
Dimensions: 10 x 12 x 10cm
Materials: Swarovski crystals, acrylics, gold
Edition: Unique piece commissioned by Swarovski
About: At the invitation of the Swarovski boutique in London, 15 international designers contributed to the project Swarovski Displayed at Runway Rocks Shanghai. The results were not presented in a jewellery show on the catwalk, as they normally are, but in a special exhibition. This exhibition premiered in London in 2013 and toured many other major world cities. The participants had the company’s complete collection of synthetic crystal and semi-precious stones at their disposal and were invited to design innovative pieces of jewellery with those materials. Sweet Temptation came about as part of the Fiction and Fantasy project. Ted Noten played with the ultimate symbol of temptation: the irresistible, Edenic fruit that led to the Fall of Man. Diamonds may be a girl’s best friend, but they are also the seeds of destruction.
